Empowering Young Minds Through Agricultural Education – School Visit 2025

The Index Institute of Agricultural Sciences recently had the pleasure of hosting students from PM Shree Higher Secondary School, Dhamnod, on 26th September 2025. Organized with the goal of providing hands-on exposure to modern agricultural practices and innovations, the visit welcomed 125 enthusiastic students. This initiative aimed to broaden students’ understanding of agriculture, inspire curiosity, and introduce them to potential career opportunities in this vital field. The students were warmly received by the institute faculty and guided through an engaging and informative tour of the campus. The event was conducted under the guidance of Shri Suresh Singh Bhadoria, Chairman of Index Group of Institutions, and Shri Mayank Raj Singh Bhadoria, Vice Chairman, whose vision for quality education continues to inspire such initiatives. During the visit, students explored various departments, including Agronomy, Horticulture, Soil Science, and Agricultural Engineering. They witnessed modern agricultural techniques firsthand, such as drip irrigation systems, greenhouse farming, organic farming practices, and the practical use of agricultural machinery and equipment. Faculty members explained ongoing research projects, innovations, and the scientific principles behind sustainable farming. The interactive sessions provided students with valuable insights into the importance of technology, research, and scientific management in enhancing productivity and environmental sustainability in agriculture. The school visit proved to be an enriching and inspiring experience for all participants. Students gained a deeper understanding of modern agricultural methods and the role of research and technology in shaping the future of farming. They expressed their appreciation to both the school management and the Index Institute of Agricultural Sciences for organizing such a comprehensive and informative trip. School Visit – Inspiring Young Minds in Agriculture

On 20th September 2025, the Index Institute of Agricultural Sciences hosted an enlightening visit for 150 students from PM Shree Higher Secondary School, Dhamnod, Maheshwar MP. The initiative aimed to introduce students to the world of agricultural education, scientific farming practices, and sustainable development. The visit provided a unique platform for young learners to understand the vital role of agriculture in society, explore modern farming techniques, and develop an interest in pursuing careers in agriculture and allied sectors. Through this hands-on experience, students were encouraged to connect theoretical knowledge with practical application, fostering curiosity and motivation.

The day began with a warm welcome from the institute’s faculty, followed by an introduction to the various departments and academic programs. Students visited the Agronomy Department, where they learned about crop production techniques, crop rotation, and soil management. At the Horticulture Department, they observed demonstrations on fruit and vegetable cultivation, nursery management, and greenhouse farming. The Soil Science Department introduced students to soil testing, fertility management, and preparation of organic manure. Practical demonstrations on organic farming, vermicomposting, greenhouse cultivation, and the use of drones in agriculture showcased the latest innovations in the field. Interactive sessions with faculty allowed students to ask questions, clarify concepts, and gain insights into career opportunities in agriculture and research.

The visit proved highly enriching, offering students a firsthand understanding of modern agricultural practices and sustainable farming. They gained knowledge about environmental conservation, innovative technologies, and the importance of scientific approaches in agriculture. The experience not only bridged the gap between classroom learning and real-world application but also inspired students to consider agriculture as a meaningful and rewarding career path.
